"Seeking Specius" is an aesthetised surveillance system. It originates on account of an invitation to participate in an exhibition project of the Utrecht (NL) based private organisation "Stichting Kunstmanifestatie op Locatie". Topic of the exhibition was "De Mensenfamilie - The Family Of Man" referring to the legendary Photo Show from the fifties.

The system captures people entering the cafeteria of the University Library of Utrecht. The projection on a holographic foil shows the grabbed image in a virtual 3D space together with a number of data resulting out of an image analysis. Since the analysed images are placed one after the other in a three dimensional coordinate system depending of the current time and the image analysis, a 3D formation emerges during the day, representing the statistics of the analyzed images.
