> Communication is often defined by the so called transmission model. This model consists of an info source, which produces a message, a transmitter, which encodes the message into signals, a channel, to which signals are adapted for transmission (the media), a receiver, which decodes – reconstructs – the message from the signal and a destination, where the message arrives.
The sixth element of this model is a dysfunctional factor, called noise, which is interfering with the message and often changes its meaning till it arrives at the destination. I am interested exactly in this sixth part, in the noise. The media itself, the channel is not really in my interest. I focus on the dysfunctional part of any kind of communication, which we can find in every form of media.
I am fascinated by language and by misunderstandings, caused by the nature of language and our way to communicate. being continued >>>
